Appointment of John Chivers

SIG are pleased to announce the appointment of John Chivers to the Board of SIG with effect from 1st September 2001.

John joined Sheffield Insulations Ltd in 1975 and worked in a number of operational and senior management roles prior to becoming Divisional Director for the South. After a successful ten years in that role John was promoted to Managing Director of the newly formed SIG Roofing Division, following the acquisition of Asphaltic Roofing Supplies in 1997. He has been at the helm of this division through a period of rapid growth and it is now one of the most profitable businesses within the Group.

John has made an important contribution to the growth and success of our business and I am delighted to see the Group Board strengthened by his appointment.
