SIG plc are pleased to announce the acquisition of Clydesdale Roofing Supplies Ltd for a consideration of circa £2m in cash. The company is a long established and well respected, specialist roofing distributor with 9 branches in the North of England, generating circa £10m of sales. Clydesdale Roofing Supplies will continue to trade separately under its own name and the existing Managing Director, John McGuire, will stay with the business. The acquisition of Clydesdale continues SIG’s successful strategy of making and integrating ‘bolt-on’ acquisitions and consolidates SIG’s market leading position in the UK market. SIG now has 105 specialist roofing branches throughout the UK and Eire.
