AGM Trading Statement

SIG plc, the leading supplier of insulation, roofing, interiors and specialist products to the construction and building industries, is holding its AGM today, Wednesday 16 May 2007. David Williams, Group Chief Executive, will be making the following statement concerning year to date trading. “Trading performance in the first four months has been strong, with good like for like growth achieved throughout the Group’s operations. In the UK and Ireland, growth has been achieved across all business streams against a background of generally good market conditions. In Mainland Europe, the strong momentum in Germany and Poland reported in the latter part of 2006 has continued into 2007. Trading in France, Benelux and Austria has also shown good growth. The acquisitions program has continued, with 9 transactions completed so far this year together adding 8 additional trading sites in the UK and 20 in Mainland Europe. This includes an expansion of our geographic coverage in Central Europe with 16 trading sites added in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This encouraging start to the year gives the Board confidence that further progress will be made.“
