The Executive Committee is responsible for implementing the Group’s strategy and policies, day-to-day management of the business and monitoring performance.
Meinie Oldersma was appointed Group Chief Executive on 3 April 2017. He was previously Chief Executive of Brammer Limited, a leading specialist distributor of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul products. Prior to that, Meinie was CEO at 20:20 Mobile Group and President of Ingram Micro China Group. Meinie was also previously a Non-Executive Director of Bunzl Plc. Meinie is Non-Executive Chairman of Kondor Ltd and a Non-Executive Director of Smallsteps BV.
Nick Maddock was appointed Chief Financial Officer on 1 February 2017. He was previously Chief Financial Officer of McCarthy & Stone plc. Prior to this, Nick worked as Finance Director for Centrica’s upstream oil and gas business, Financial Controller at British Gas and a Director in Mergers and Acquisitions at ING Barings. Nick trained as a chartered accountant and chartered tax advisor at Ernst & Young.
Christian joined SIG on December 1 2015. Previously he was Senior Vice President for Staples Europe, with responsibility for Staples’ European B2B contract business, spanning operations in 15 countries. Prior to that, Christian held a variety of senior sales, general management and procurement roles with Staples and Corporate Express (which was acquired by Staples in 2008). Before joining Corporate Express in 1998, he held a number of Category Management and Marketing roles at Inmac Corp. and later Microwarehouse Inc.
Rob is Managing Director for SIG UK & Ireland, with overall responsibility for its businesses in the UK, Ireland and the Middle East. He joined SIG in 1997 and has held various senior management roles within the business including Managing Director of SIG Distribution, which he led the creation of by bringing together the Group’s UK insulations, interiors, construction accessories and fixings businesses. Prior to joining SIG Rob was a Regional Director for a global wood products company based in New Zealand, which is where he originates from. Rob is a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Speedy Hire Plc.
Linda is Group HR Director for SIG. Previously she was Vice President of People for Orange UK and then Chief Change Officer at EE, the UK’s largest mobile operator, where she was successful in delivering Orange UK into the Sunday Times Best Companies and in leading the merger and integration of Orange and T-Mobile. Prior to EE, Linda was Group HR Director at international service company Serco, where she was responsible for the development of its people strategy and the implementation of a new leadership and talent management framework.
Mark joined SIG in April 2013 as UK IT Director and was appointed Group CIO in December 2014. He was appointed IT Director of Iceland Foods in 2002 when it was part of The Big Food Group Plc (which also incorporated Booker Wholesale) and then latterly when it became a privately owned business again from 2005. He was also previously IT Director of Woodward Foodservice from 2000 until 2002. Mark began his career at Kwik Save Plc in 1982 rising up the ranks he held a variety of IT roles before becoming IT Services Director.
Leonard joined SIG in January 2015, as Group Director of Corporate Development. Previously he was Managing Director International Business Development at HomeServe PLC, where he was responsible for growing the business internationally through acquisitions and partnerships. Prior to HomeServe Leonard was Director of Corporate Development at Electonic Data Systems, the global IT service company, and Vice President - M&A at JPMorgan, the investment bank. Leonard is a Non-Executive Director at Synergym SL, a business he co-founded in 2013.
Philippe joined SIG in September 2011 as Managing Director of SIG France. He has been in the construction industry since 2000, when he joined CRH as Finance and Development Director for France. He has then held a number of positions within CRH Europe before becoming Managing Director of CRH France Distribution. From 1995 to 2000, he worked in consumer electronics industry for Thomson multimedia, where he was the head of Controlling of the Glass Business Unit Europe & Asia. He started his career with Ernst & Young from 1989 to 1995.
