Simon Kesterton appointed as SIG CEO from 1 May 2027

SIG is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Kesterton, currently Chief Financial Officer, as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 May 2027. Pim Vervaat will continue as Chief Executive Officer until that date, when he will transition to the role of non-executive Chair. The Board has begun the process of identifying Simon’s successor as Chief Financial Officer and will provide a further update in due course.

Simon’s appointment is consistent with the succession plans outlined in the Company’s July 2025 announcements. These stated that Pim Vervaat would become Chief Executive Officer in October 2025 before transitioning to non-executive Chair approximately 18 months later.

Simon is a highly experienced executive leader who has successfully operated at C-suite and Board level within complex multi-billion revenue organisations across multiple end markets. He has a track record across more than 20 years of implementing transformational strategic change and delivering market-leading organic and inorganic growth. From 2019 until December 2025, Simon was CFO at Kier Group plc, a leading provider of construction, infrastructure and property developments in the UK. Prior to that, he served for six years as CFO at RPC Group plc. Simon also serves as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of AIM-listed Mpac Group plc, a provider of global packaging and automation solutions.
